He made the announcement Thursday ahead of the Kings' regular-season finale. Los Angeles will face Edmonton in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

McDavid shared the League lead with 5-3-8 in four games, highlighted by reaching the 100-point milestone for the fifth time in seven NHL seasons, as the Oilers (40-25-5, 85 points) completed a perfect week to move within one point of second place in the Pacific Division.

Keith Yandle will be a healthy scratch for the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night, ending his NHL-record consecutive-games-played streak at 989 games.

Yandle, 35, broke the "iron man" record earlier this season, passing Doug Jarvis on Jan. 25 by playing in his 965th consecutive regular-season game at the New York Islanders. The defenseman's streak began in his third NHL season, on March 26, 2009.

Canadiens right wing Cole Caufield, who led all rookies with seven goals and 15 points (7-8-15) as well as three power-play goals (tied), five power-play assists and eight power-play points (3-5-8) in 15 games, has been named the NHL's "Rookie of the Month" for March.
